Is hydrocele related to urology? If it is then what are the treatment methods?
Urologist
YES! Hydrocele is specifically an Urological problem, but it is being dealed by both Urologists and General Surgeons. Hydrocele is of many types ( congenital/communicating, Acquired/non communicating{ primary( infantile, encysted vaginal)/ secondary} etc. What ever the types, treatment of this problem is commonly surgery ( like Herniotomy, depending on the size of the sac ( Lord's procedure/jaboulay's procedure or even for very large size scrotoplasty+excision of the sac +Jaboulay's). Some other forms of treatment modality are available like Aspiration and sclerotherapy which is basically for those surgically unfit patients. For more details patients need to consult the Surgeon.
