how often do I get tetanus vaccine? cut myself from small wounds from little rusted zinc plate. mosty I take 2 tetanus vaccine every year. The last vaccine which I took nearly 5 months ago. Do I need to take vaccine more or not, please suggest me as soon as possible.
If you have received three doses of tetanus vaccine in the past, you don’t need re-vaccination for clean wound if your vaccination was within 10 years. For dirty wound (eg: by rusted zinc plate/large wound), you don’t need re-vaccination if your last vaccination was within 5 years. From your concern, you don’t need to get vaccine now as you have taken last dose 5 months before.
